Zeal for Beauty

Restoration of the Chapel, Grand Staircase, Dome, and Corridors

“This is an era when we have to be intentionally Catholic.
Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki

Christ King Chapel is the heart of the Seminary. The grand staircase, dome, and corridors prepare us to encounter the transcendent. To foster Beauty in the Lord’s House, the following work is planned:

  • Restoration of Christ King Chapel’s 1888 mural of the episcopal ordination of Saint Francis de Sales. Sanctuary and nave repainting, repair of plaster, addition of pews and confessionals, and refurbishing of lighting.
  • Replacement or refurbishment of the failing organ
  • Restoration of the historic grand staircase including plaster repair, structural improvements, flooring replacement, and paint stripping and repainting.
  • Restore the dome interior, as well as administrative corridors and entrance to their original dignity.
