Teaching Parish Program

Real World Experience

The primary goal of the Teaching Parish Program model for pastoral formation is to better integrate the totality of parish and seminary experiences from the first year to the day of ordination.

Seminarians in the Teaching Parish Program are involved in the following areas of parish life at some point during the four-year process.

  • Liturgy
  • RCIA/Adult formation
  • Catechetics/Child and Youth Ministry
  • Evangelization
  • Outreach/Human Concerns
  • Administration

Parish involvement for each year is scheduled around classwork and is determined in conversation with the seminarian's formation advisor and pastor/supervisor.

This formation model highlights the reality that formation is ongoing and lifelong, and it does not take place through academics alone.

Many ways to give

Any donation to the Seminary is greatly appreciated, and there are many options for giving.
