Support Our Mission

A Tradition of Local Formation
More than 150 years ago, the rapidly growing Archdiocese of Milwaukee needed priests. It opened its own seminary in response. Today, once again, the number of Catholics in southeastern Wisconsin is expanding and we need a viable seminary as never before.

Having our own seminary is a unique gift that the Archdiocese has strongly affirmed. While most other dioceses in the country have to look elsewhere to educate their priests, we can work with candidates close to home. Not only do seminarians benefit from a high-caliber academic program, they also receive formation within the very community they will serve.

Hope for the Future: Forming Tomorrow’s Priests
Saint Francis Seminary is embarking on a bold and visionary step. You can have a hand in shaping it for the future. Your strong support will help refine and mold the seminary’s new model of formation to meet the needs of the church in the 21st century.

Since the costs of formation for each seminarian are more than $40,000 per year, your generosity will help to strengthen and grow the seminary. What’s more, the new direction of Saint Francis Seminary is responsible stewardship, meant to assure that the seminary continues to provide high-quality, continually-strengthened, local formation. Your gift is not only a contribution to the seminary, but also a sign of confidence in the future of our priesthood.

Support our Mission
When you give to Saint Francis Seminary, you are both supporting the seminary, and strengthening the Church throughout southeastern Wisconsin. From Jesus to St. Peter and his successors to our own bishops and priests, the priesthood draws us together in Christ.

Our seminarians count on and appreciate:

  • Your prayers.  150 years ago, Father Salzmann asked Catholics to pray this simple prayer:  “Lord, send laborers into Thy vineyard, for the harvest is great.”  Just as it did more than one hundred years ago, it speaks to our need today.  Pray often for our seminarians, priest faculty, and administrators. Pray especially for people who are discerning calls to priesthood.
  • Your time. From running marathons to assisting with fundraisers, opportunities to volunteer in support of Saint Francis Seminary and the priestly Vocations Office abound.
  • Your financial gifts. Your gifts ensure that those who answer God’s call will never be denied the opportunity to serve because of financial reasons.
